An ACCR is a required assessment for entry into the aged care system.

This is required for entry into aged care and assists in determining fees and charges.

RAD is a lump sum paid on entry based on the advertised room costs and is fully refunded on leaving the aged care facility.

DAP is a daily fee charged if the RAD is not fully paid. A maximum permissible interest rate is used to assists in the calculating the DAP.

All residents are expected to pay the daily care fee calculated at 85% of the single pension.

Means tested income fees are charged based on an assessment of your income and assets.

A retirement village usually is a single complex or a number of complexes offering housing under the retirement villages scheme.

Eligible residents must be 55 years or older and retired from full-time work.

Many residents enter retirement living as a lifestyle option and the benefits of living in a close knit and supportive like minded community.

You need to check with the operator prior to entry or prior to bring pets into the complex.

There are a number of fees and charges and you need to discuss with the operator the fees and charges prior to entry.
